ICYMI, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has extended voter registration from the original deadline of September 30. Local voters can now register from October 11 to 30 while Filipino overseas can from October 1 to 14 for the upcoming national elections in May 2022.
Interested registrants must be at least 18 years old on or before May 9, 2022, and are residents of the Philippines for at least a year in the district where they are registering. Take note that applicants must first accomplish the Voter Registration Form and Coronavirus Declaration Form that is found on the COMELEC website. Persons with disabilities, senior citizens with disabilities, and indigenous people must also accomplish the Supplementary Data Form.
For a successful application, registrants must submit their accomplished forms and valid IDs to their chosen satellite branch. The IDs accepted are government-issued IDs, employee ID, student’s ID, library card, PWD discount ID, NBI Clearance, PRC License, and other valid IDs.
The registration is from 8am to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays except on the last day of registration which falls on a Saturday, at all COMELEC offices and satellite registration sites in malls nationwide. For those who are already registered and want to check if their records are still active, they may call the Comelec’s Information Technology Department (ITD) at 8527-9365 or 8526-7769 to confirm.
